Auditors, suppliers, customers and job candidates walk onto a site without knowing its hazards. A visitor log that records the PPE handed out, the escort and the briefing keeps that on paper, and gives the muster point a list of the visitors who have signed in. Keeping a visitor log is good practice; it is not a specific legal requirement we can point to for every site.
